Outdoor Amenities:
We are located on a quiet cove on Spider Lake, 12 miles southeast of Traverse City, Michigan. Spider Lake is excellent for fishing, water skiing, swimming, and other water sports. We provide a dock with rowboat, oars, and life preservers, as well as grills, outdoor furniture, fire pits, water slide, and a play structure for the kids.

A pontoon boat is a available for rental at $150 per day plus gasoline. The pontoon is a very nice boat with 40 h.p. motor, radio, canopy, tables, and plenty of seating. 

Conveniences:
Birch Cove is within five minutes of Courtade's, a small gas/grocery store; Peegeo's, our neighborhood eatery and bar; a township park; and public boat launches for Spider Lake and neighboring Arbutus Lake.

Local Attractions:
Day trips may include the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes in Empire, Michigan (1 1/4 hour drive); Old Mission peninsula and lighthouse; downtown Traverse City's Clinch Park Marina and Zoo; or one of our local orchards or wineries. Surrounding Traverse City are numerous quaint towns which are fun to visit for shopping or sightseeing, including Leland, Suttons Bay, Elk Rapids, and Northport. If you enjoy gambling, Leelanau Sands Casino is a 45 minute drive, and Turtle Creek Casino is a 25 minute drive. There are excellent golf courses in the area. Local maps and tourism information will be available upon your arrival.
